"Hello, my loves, I am Zari, Zarimoth, Mystical Illustrator and as many of you know, and others may intuit, I am tremendously witchy, mystical, esoteric (however you prefer to label me) and in my spiritual practice I use various tools, from tarot decks, oracles, crystals... that if I don't treat with care and attention, they can become energetically charged both from use and from the dissonant energies of the space (does it sound familiar to you that an obsidian or quartz crystal “mysteriously” breaks from carrying it too often?)
And the easiest way to solve and prevent it is to cleanse them energetically.
🌿 And why do you have to clean your mystical tools?
As we just mentioned, with use our tools absorb energy, be it our protective talismans when we are at the forefront of the battle to protect ourselves in our daily lives or when practicing divination in all its incredible forms, whether we want to or not, we open portals and move A LOT of energy, which can overload them and sometimes not in the best ways 🫠✨

Cleaning them is an act of love, of gratitude, of honoring them, not just maintenance. It connects us more to our talismans or crystals and creates an energetic bond that is strengthened through that giving and receiving; you care for and cleanse them, they give you their energy and protection.
And if you don't do it... well, you will face the consequences: feeling burdened, disturbed, chaotic if you carry them with you or when you use them, or even that the answers are not correct if we are using a deck or some divination method, in short, your practice and your spiritual energy will be affected 🪫✨
🌬️ When should you do it?
This is a question that doesn't have a simple answer, but I can give you some guidelines to keep in mind and learn to recognize when your tool is due for a good cleaning 🕯️✨
✦ If “something is not flowing” - If you are in the middle of a reading and notice some disturbance… prepare the incense.
✦ After an intense reading or a profound ritual - They've earned it!
✦ When you have been in contact with negative energies, environments, or people - Or else you will take those energies with you 🥲
✦ After experiencing a highly emotional situation - such as an argument, a panic attack, or a lot of crying...
✦ On certain astrological dates or lunar phases - Especially on New Moons or Full Moons ( this is when I bring out my entire arsenal to expose it to the Goddess energy 🌙✨)
✦ When you feel it - Remember that your intuition will know before your mind does. Personally, I feel when they are charged and in urgent need of spiritual attention by touching them, by their weight, or by the energy they emit. 😵💫✨
💡 But if in doubt, I can give you some advice: I would dedicate a more superficial weekly cleaning to the most used tools and a very deep one once a month, preferably on the night of the Full Moon.
🔥 Methods to cleanse your Mystical Tools
Now comes the fun part: choosing which specific method you're going to use to carry out the cleaning 🕯️✨
And here you can go crazy , because there are multiple options, each culture, practice or spiritual path has its preferences, but I will share the most common ones with you :
✦ Smoke – the most well-known and commonly used; light incense, bundles of herbs (sage, rosemary, rue, etc.), or the legendary palo santo and let the smoke pass through and penetrate your tools. Ideal for those that can't get wet.
✦ Water – very versatile; you can place your object in a natural stream or leave it for a few hours in a bowl of water with purifying elements like salt, lemon, or herbs, and as a bonus, under moonlight.
✦ Soil – You can bury them in a plant's substrate or in a special natural location. It's the best way to bury your crystals! ✨
✦ Fire – Use a lit white candle to carefully pass your tool over it, always with intention.
✦ Salt – Make a bed of salt in a bowl and bury your small objects or crystals. You can also mix it with water, as mentioned above.
✦ Crystals – You can use crystals like selenite or amethyst/quartz druses to recharge and cleanse other tools.
✦ Sound – Use Tibetan bowls, bells, or even your voice to energetically cleanse with high-vibration frequencies.
✦ Visualization – Hold the object in your hands and "visualize" a light cleansing it. You can use spells or affirmations to accompany this.
✦ Lunar or Solar Light – Leave your tools where they receive the energy of the Sun or the Moon, with intention, and collect them before sunset or sunrise, depending on the chosen star.
And after this long list, my advice if you don't know where to start is to choose a simple method or one that catches your attention; and this is a very personal decision.

✦ Tarot or Oracles – Incense + amethyst stone while they are stored.
✦ Crystals – Incense + selenite bowl on my altar.
✦ Crystal Ball – Salt Water + Visualization.
✦ Pendulum – Incense + Protection Spells.
✦ Notebooks or artistic tools – Affirmations + activation ritual under lunar or solar light.
🌕 Simple cleansing and reconnection ritual
And finally, I want to teach you a very simple little ritual with the steps you can follow to effectively clean your tools ✨

Prepare the Space – In a quiet place, play soft music, light a candle or incense, and set out your tools and cleaning methods.

Breathe and center your energy – Breathe consciously to ground your energy in the present moment.

Connect with your tools – Look at them, thank them for their work, say it out loud, and when you're ready, hold them.

Energy Clearing – Use your chosen method and feel the release. You can say:
“I cleanse and free this tool from all evil, from all negativity, from all energy that is not of light and does not vibrate in the light, thus leaving it clean and protected…” -
Keep them or use them with intention – Give thanks to the elements and methods used for cleansing and store them carefully (in a pretty box, inside a special cloth, or on your altar).
“Every object you use on your spiritual path is a mirror of yourself. By cleansing it, you purify yourself as well.”
